Things to see and do in Stonesfield and the Area

Stonesfield has a population of around 1,500 inhabitants.  It has a village shop, ideal for convenience  items, it is well stocked with fresh produce and an off license. It includes a post office, where you can get money out.  Open 7am -8pm.

Hair dressers  - Salon Copenhagen, which also has a nails bar.

Pub - The White Horse . it’s best to book in advance if you want a table.

Children’s playground at the playing fields, which also hosts the library and the Sports and Social Club.  We have an active village cricket team and they play on the best ground within the area. Plus there is a great playground at Combe.  Long Hanborough, Chadlington and Chipping Norton.

Walking and hiking are your thing, the village is ideally situated for walks to the local Evenlode river, where we have a wooden bridge which is ideal for poo sticks and wading in the shallows. It’s a great spot for a picnic. From the river you can walk back to Hollyhock House through the bottom of the woods which is called Stocky Bottom.  In September, the leaves fall and create an amber carpet, it’s a lovely walk.  Children can play in ‘The Dell’ and swing from the ropes in the trees.

Pop up café,  This must be booked in advance as they always sell out as its so popular and the food is amazing! Jamie & Jacqui may also come and cook for you with prior arrangement.
